REVIEW

Overall Impression: This latest venture by Kenny DesChamp is massive, bold, and full of emotion. It features a dramatic musical backdrop comprised of heavy Rock and synthesized orchestral instruments. The first few moments immediately plunge the listener into a foreboding atmosphere and make it clear that this tune is an experience. DesChamp has some serious power in his voice, and enhances his vocals to give a futuristic and otherworldly quality. This adds a unique dimension when combined with the lyrics, working through the pain and desire of a particularly fiery relationship. As the tune progresses, new textures, affectations, and moods appear and turn Knife of Desire into a transformative and engaging new work.
Strongest Point(s): While the timbre and color of some of the instruments does make the ears perk up, the melodies and orchestration are very intriguing. There is some fine artistry at work that brings out intense emotions and very cool ideas. The use of vocal effects adds a terrific Sci-Fi element to the track that is particularly engaging for this reviewer. While it is easily overdone, DesChamp has been careful in his use of vocal effects to add rather than detract.
Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Alternative Rock and Experimental Rock will enjoy Knife of Desire by Kenny DesChamp.
